Construction crews on the new Nissan Stadium in Nashville have achieved major milestones. Notably, they have topped out the steel structure and are advancing roof installation. The $2.1 billion project remains on track for a 2027 opening, with steady progress anticipated into early 2026.
Steel Structure Completion
Following recent progress, crews raised the final steel beam in November 2025, topping out the framework after installing over 12,400 beams totaling 18,000 tons. This key phase wrapped up ahead of schedule in some areas, with more than 25,000 steel pieces installed using 3D BIM modeling and seven cranes on site. The 1.8 million-square-foot venue’s outline, including the field bowl, now stands clearly visible on Nashville’s East Bank.
Roof Construction Progress
Building on the completed steel structure, roof work began in November 2025, focusing on the translucent ETFE cable-supported system, similar to that at SoFi Stadium. By mid-2025, teams installed four of 50 ring beam boxes and started lower roof decking on the west side. Plans call for lifting the cable system in May 2026, completing full roof installation by October 2026, and fully enclosing the stadium by September 2026.
Interior and MEP Advances
As the exterior progresses, interior and MEP work also advance. Over 220,000 square feet of concrete block walls are in place, along with precast stadium seating at suite levels. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems see major gains. Field-level HVAC air handlers are installed. Four electrical transformers are operational with dual power feeds, and domestic water connections are complete. Glass railings now rise near the escalators; 44 are planned, an increase from 4 in the current stadium.
Key Project Details
Alongside these construction milestones, key project details highlight the scope and impact of the development. The 60,000-seat domed stadium is planned for the current site’s east side, with groundbreaking in March 2024. Around 1,000 workers log daily hours, surpassing one million labor hours early on. Features include a Ryman-sized stage in the mosh pit, improved sightlines, exterior terraces, and an artificial turf field. Titans report that 70% of ticket sales are complete, with PSL renewals prioritized.
Timeline and Outlook
Looking ahead, field walls and compression structures will be finished by late 2025, paving the way for roof cables. Exterior glazing fabrication targets an August 2025 install start; interior flourishes, like concessions, follow. Full completion is scheduled for February 2027, enabling NFL games, Super Bowls, and concerts. Officials confirm the build remains on budget and schedule despite scale.
